The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens is at 400 S. Walton Blvd. Col. Samuel West Peel, a pioneer businessman, Native American agent, Confederate soldier, and congressman, built this Italianate mansion in 1875. He and his wife, Mary Emaline Berry Peel, raised nine children here. The house is furnished in period. A garden comprising historic roses, perennials and native plants also is on site. The mansion is available for viewing by guided tour only.

Hours
Tours are offered on the hour Tues.-Sat. 10-3, Mar.-Dec. Last tour begins at closing. The museum and gardens may close for special events; phone ahead to confirm schedule. Closed July 4, day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Fri.-Sat. after Thanksgiving and Sun. before Christmas-Dec. 31. Phone to confirm holiday schedule. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
