Arkansas Air and Military Museum is 5 mi. s. on US 71 next to the Fayetteville Executive Airport. The museum houses racing planes of the 1920s and '30s, open cockpit biplanes and early aircraft engines. Most of the planes are maintained in flying condition. Various exhibits trace the history of manned flight. Artifacts and a collection of military equipment from the Civil War to present-day conflicts also are on display. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$10; $9 (ages 65+ and active and retired military with ID); $5 (ages 6-12); $25 (family, parents and children ages 0-15).
Hours: Sun.-Fri. 11-4:30, Sat. 10-4:30. The facility may be closed for private events. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
