Fort Smith Museum of History is at 320 Rogers Ave. Chronicling the development of Fort Smith, museum collections include an early 20th-century pharmacy and soda fountain, the area's first steam-powered fire pump and memorabilia of World War II hero Brig. Gen. William O. Darby. The In the Shadow of the Gallows exhibit presents the changing perspectives of federal executions at Fort Smith from 1873-96; Judge Isaac C. Parker's original bench and chair are on display. The Boyd Gallery features changing exhibits. The Fort Smith Trolley Museum offers rides on a restored electric trolley.
