Mid-America Science Museum is on SR 227, 1 mi. n. of US 270 at 500 Mid-America Blvd. This museum offers more than 100 hands-on science exhibits that explore such subjects as perception, energy, sound, light and gravity. Visitors can view the Guinness World Record's most powerful conical Tesla coil, learn about astronomy in the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater and dig for dinosaur bones in the Dino Dig. Guests may also enjoy the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk, nature trails, educational programs and ongoing featured exhibits. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
Museum $10; $8 (ages 3-12, ages 65+ and military with ID). Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater Show $6. Tesla show $3.
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10-6, Sun. 1-6, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Tues.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. 1-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
