Forrest L. Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center is 3.5 mi. s. on SR 141 to 600 E. Lawson Rd. This center focuses on the natural history of the 200-mile-long Crowley's Ridge and the wildlife that inhabits it. A 16-minute film featuring animation and special effects is shown every 30 minutes. Also offered is a video that highlights recreational opportunities throughout the state. Animals are on display in aquariums, terrariums and various habitats. Interpretive exhibits also are available. Trails explore wetlands, forest and prairie areas. Educational programs are offered, including animal feedings and Creature Feature presentations. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Hours: Trails open daily dawn-dusk. Nature center open Tues.-Sat. 8:30-4:30, Sun. 1-5. Animal feeding daily at 3:30. Creature Feature Sat. at 10:30. Nature center closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
