Central High School National Historic Site is at 2120 W. Daisy L. Gatson Bates Dr. In 1957, while Little Rock was in the process of desegregating its public schools, Central High was the scene for events considered pivotal in national Civil Rights history. The school is an operating high school. Visitors should park and begin their visit at the National Park Service visitor center that features interactive exhibits. A commemorative garden also is on-site.
