McVicar House is on the grounds of Historic Arkansas Museum at 200 E. 3rd St. Built in the 1840s by James McVicar, warden of the state prison, the house exemplifies the smaller Southern house of its time. The house is held together by white oak pegs and is furnished in period.</br>
