Ozark Folk Center State Park is 1.5 mi. n. via SRs 9/5/14, then 1 mi. w. on SR 382. The center focuses on the crafts, music, dance and oral history of an existing mountain folk culture. Local artisans demonstrate such skills as weaving, candle-making, broom-making and blacksmithing. Special events take place throughout the year. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
For craft area or for musical program $12; $7 (ages 6-12); $29.50 (family, two adults and children ages 0-17). Combination crafts and musical program $19.50; $10.25 (ages 6-12); $45 (family, two adults and children ages 0-17). Phone ahead to confirm schedule and rates.
Hours: Craft demonstrations are featured Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Apr.-Nov. Musical programs are presented in the auditorium Thurs.-Sat. at 7 p.m., Apr.-Nov. The center is open on a limited schedule rest of year for workshops, special events and holiday offerings.
