Pros: We loved just the overall look of the room and good to stay in a room very much like that one when we stay again. The staff was very helpful over the phone in the situation that was presented. Will most definitely stay there again!!

Disappointing

Pros: The air conditioner helped drown out the noise. Fairly clean and you could tell it was a really old motel but they had done some upgrades that helped such as flat screen tv, granite shower and counter tops, bedspreads, etc. Internet was easy to access.
Cons: The remote was working but not synced to the tv so we had to use it manually. The smoke alarm battery was low so it made a periodic PIERCING noise in the middle of the night scaring me to death! When we pulled up there were several duck hunters out on the balcony drinking and using loud duck calls. I had my teenage granddaughter with me. We were working as vendors during Wings Over the Prairie. I was concerned with 2 females being there alone. They did quiet down some, but there were a LOT of beer cans and broken beer bottles in the parking lot the next morning. I realize it's a huge festival going on, but that's no excuse for some of the behavior that was allowed for a family environment. We thought about packing it up and leaving but decided to tough it out. I also think it's terrible to be price GOUGING because of the festival. I realize it's a business and maybe a little higher rates, but from $70 to $120 dollars a night is ridiculous and taking advantage. As a vendor, I'm trying to make a living and because of all these reasons, I won't be attending next year, which is sad. I did tell the owner the next morning about the smoke alarm and remote control. No response other than he'd take care of it. Bad experience.
