Mission of Our Lady of Loreto

Mission of Our Lady of Loreto (Misión de Nuestra Señora de Loreto) is a block w. of the main plaza. Severely damaged by earthquakes, the 1752 mission—including the tower with its modern clock—has been almost completely rebuilt and still functions as an active church. It features baroque stone ornamentation, a bell tower and a collection of gilded altar paintings.
