AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Conference facilities): What impresses me is the ocean view conference facilities with stunning floor to ceiling wall murals that colorfully depict Bermudian culture.
On 50 landscaped acres that slope down to a pink-sand beach, this refined property offers a variety of spacious upscale and chic units hosted in separate buildings. All units have furnished patios. Guest units range in size from 455 square feet to an impressive suite of 1,500 square feet. With a separate tub and shower, each unit offers an optimal degree of comfort. The junior suites and higher room categories also feature extra amenities, including exclusive brands of personal care items. The resort fee includes one hour of tennis so make sure you try out the pro tennis center. A trip to the Asian-inspired spa is a must so book a treatment before you arrive. While there are always several dining options available, two of the restaurants are only open seasonally. The ocean view conference facilities are a big hit with meeting planners. There's a kids club available all year for an extra charge. The kids club accommodates children between 3 and 12 years old with lots of outdoor activities. Gathered with other guests in the lobby lounge each evening between 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a complimentary cocktail. Meets AAA guest room security requirements. Smoke free premises. 98 units, some cottages. 1 story, exterior corridors.

Rooms at main building were closed and windows of these rooms had wood and other stuff to cover that. Looked like ghost town from the pool.
Pros: Beach access
Cons: Totally overpriced. A bagel with salmon $25 plus gratuity and some fruit at breakfast $20 plus gratuity.

Great service, friendly people and...
Pros: Friendly staff were excellent and the hotel was very well maintained in an excellent location and with a superb beach. The hotel is 15 minutes from the capital Hamilton and 30 minutes from the airport. We took either taxis or the bus into Hamilton (the bus service is good and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel. The rooms are nice and felt like they were recently refurbished. We had a great sea view and the grounds and garden were immaculately maintained. The hotel has a rich and interesting history going back to the early 1900s and we loved looking at some of the old photographs on display around the reception area. This has always been a luxury hotel and the standards have been maintained.
Cons: Even by Bermuda standards the restaurants and food was very expensive. We ended up eating out quite a bit as a result. On the few occasions when we did eat at the hotel the food and service was very good. We feel that the pricing policy for the restaurants should be reviewed for guests - maybe offering half-board or breakfast packages that would ensure more guests used the restaurants and in return got a better deal for their loyalty. We feel that this is an important opportunity for the hotel.
