Scaur Hill Fort Park

Scaur Hill Fort Park is off Somerset Rd. on Somerset Island. Built in the 19th century to protect the Royal Naval Dockyard from possible American invasion after the Civil War, the fort was never tested. Its polygonal shape, based on a Prussian design, makes it nearly invisible from land or sea. The view is exceptional.
