Greater Vancouver Zoo is at 5048 264th St. The 49-hectare (120-acre) zoo is devoted to the preservation of endangered species. More than 600 animals represent 121 species from around the world, including hippopotami, monkeys, giraffes and tigers. A narrated train ride takes passengers around the zoo's perimeter; a bus tour travels through the North American Wilds exhibit. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
$25; $23 (ages 16+ with student ID); $19 (ages 3-15 and 65+); $80 (family, two adults and three children). Train ride $5. Parking: Parking $6. Rates may vary; phone ahead.
