Hell's Gate Airtram

Hell's Gate Airtram is 11 km (7 mi.) s. on Hwy. 1 to 43111 Trans-Canada Hwy. in Fraser River Canyon. The 25-passenger gondola descends 153 metres (502 ft.) across the river to the narrowest part of Fraser Canyon and across Hell's Gate Fishways, where millions of salmon annually swim upstream to their spawning grounds. Visitors can see eight fishways from the lower observation decks or a suspension bridge.

A film about the life cycle of the salmon is shown at the education center, along with stories about early explorer Simon Fraser and the Fraser River Gold Rush. Panning for gold is available.
