BC Forest Discovery Centre is 1.5 km (1 mi.) n. off Hwy. 1 to 2892 Drinkwater Rd. The site has more than 40 hectares (99 acres) of forest and interactive displays and videotapes depicting British Columbia's forestry heritage, management practices and renewal efforts. In addition to a logging museum there are Douglas fir trees, forestry equipment and an old-time logging camp. A nature trail (July through August) and a ride on a logging train (April through August) are available; a Christmas train ride and related events take place in late November and December. A few special events take place in the spring.
