AAA Editor Notes
Pacific Northwest Raptor Visitor Centre is 5 km (3 mi.) n. on Trans-Canada Hwy. then 4 km (2 mi.) w. on 1877 Herd Rd. Birds of prey, some captive bred and others non-releasable, can be seen up close at this facility run by The Raptors, a wildlife conservation organization. Those born in captivity are allowed to fly outside their pens during the day, returning home at night. Birds such as hawks, eagles, owls and falcons can be seen in daily flying demonstrations, hands-on encounters and educational talks. Additional fees are charged for the hawk walk, 1-hour encounter and raptor experience.
Note: The center will be closed for renovations Nov. 2017-Dec. 2017 and is scheduled to reopen Mar. 2018.
