AAA Inspector Notes
Choose a small Heritage room with antique furnishings, or a modern Arms suite. All are lovely and some have great lake views. On busy nights, music from the bar can drift to the rooms directly above. Right on the shores of Okanagan Lake, this beautiful hotel has a fantastic history. It was founded in 1926 and has been owned by a variety of colorful characters. At one point it was moved, then it was burned down and was finally rebuilt in 1990 in its current location. You will find all kinds of memorabilia and photos in the public areas. Smoke free premises. 53 units. 3-4 stories, interior corridors.

Pros: Beds comfortable. Amenities satisfactory. Staff for the most part good or very good. However.... we were not "allowed" to sit out on the waterside deck for coffee or just to enjoy the view and given reasons that were clearly made up; and no alternative was suggested. When there is no true waterfront as part of this beautiful lakefront property, which I presume is marketed primarily for leisure purposes, guests should be allowed some degree of access to the deck. Overall a good experience in a relatively sophisticated facility; but the issue about the deck is bush league!
Cons: See previous comment. I wouldlike to know where the photo with the woman sitting in a "sun chair" enjoying the sunshine was taken. I couldn't find it!

Pros: Dinner was the best we had during our tour of the Okanagan. We treated ourselves to Chateaubriand and it was fabulous. The whole experience at the bar and the dining room was world class and the service from the whole team esp our server made our evening unforgettable. Thank-you
