Pros:
Cons: ONLY ISSUE OF NOTE: I had some problems upon checking out. I do not own a credit card and every time I stay at a hotel, I purchase a $250 Visa Gift Card which I present to cover a damage deposit. The desk clerk charges the deposit and when I check out, it is reversed back onto the card. I have done this dozens of times, in Canada and the U.S.A. and the money is accessible within an hour on the card. This time there was an issue. The desk clerk who checked me in put a hold on my card, not a charge. When I checked out, I learned it was unable to be reversed and would remain on hold for up to 8 days. As I required the money to return home, that posed a big problem. There was a man checking out behind me that voiced the same issue as a hold was placed onto his credit card. It should be a straight up charge onto the card and a reversal upon check out. Not a hold which won't be released for a week. That is a substantial amount of money for anyone to have held for a week, when there is no need for it. The person behind the counter was very helpful and could see that I was stressed and under pressure. I needed to get to my daughter's dance competition and was happy I had chosen to check out early as it took me almost 45 minutes to actually check out. I spoke with the credit card company who confirmed that this sort of transaction was unusual because a week was a long time to hold onto money from a deposit on a hotel, especially for a one night stay. They were unable to change it as it was held by the hotel. The hotel was unable to reverse it at that stage. The problem was rectified, in a round about way, and I very much appreciate the help I was given. Sadly, because of the delay, I was unable to partake in the breakfast, other than a muffin to take with me. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much and will return again.
