Osoyoos Desert Centre is 2.9 km (1.9 mi.) n. of jct. hwys. 3 and 97, then 1.2 km (.7 mi.) w. to 14580 146th Ave. The 26.8-hectare (67-acre) nature interpretive facility features one of Canada’s rarest and most endangered ecosystems. It is home to an amazing variety of plants and animals, including some species not found anywhere else in Canada.
In addition to hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden, visitors can take a guided or self-guiding tour along a 1.5-kilometre (1-mi.) elevated boardwalk.
Pets are not permitted on the boardwalk; a pet-sitting service is available.
Picnicking is permitted.

Hours: Open daily 9:30-4:30, mid-May to mid-Sept.; 10-2, late Apr. to mid-May and mid-Sept. to early Oct. Guided tours depart at 10, noon and 2, mid-May to mid-Sept. Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
