Osoyoos Desert Centre is 2.9 km (1.9 mi.) n. of jct. hwys. 3 and 97, then 1.2 km (.7 mi.) w. to 14580 146th Ave. The 26.8-hectare (67-acre) nature interpretive facility features one of Canada&#8217;s rarest and most endangered ecosystems. It is home to an amazing variety of plants and animals, including some species not found anywhere else in Canada.</br>In addition to hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden, visitors can take a guided or self-guiding tour along a 1.5-kilometre (1-mi.) elevated boardwalk.</br>Pets are not permitted on the boardwalk; a pet-sitting service is available.</br>Picnicking is permitted. </br>
$7; $6 (ages 6-17 and 65+); $18 (family, two adults and their children ages 0-17).
Hours: Open daily 9:30-4:30, mid-May to mid-Sept.; 10-2, late Apr. to mid-May and mid-Sept. to early Oct. Guided tours depart at 10, noon and 2, mid-May to mid-Sept. Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
