The food is so good, I can hardly wait for my next trip to see what the talented chef comes up with next. It's beautifully presented too!
AAA Inspector Notes
The name of this eatery comes from the Italian word for birch, which is used in the huge wood-burning oven. The kitchen makes almost everything from scratch or sources locally, including sausage, cured meats, sauces, bread and pizza dough. Some of the ingredients come from the chef's own garden. Appetizers include items such as smoked ahi tuna and beets or saffron mussels as well as charcuterie, cheeses and beautiful gourmet salads. The Neopolitan-style pizzas are highly creative. My favorite is the “Carne Amore,” which has sweet Italian sausage and pepperoni. Other main courses could be local Wagyu steak, an enticing fresh fish concoction and pasta dishes. And if that is not enough, the desserts are definitely worth saving room for like yummy affogato made with espresso and Frozen Paddle craft ice cream.
