Pros: Comfortable beds, good location, great views from upper floors. Granville Island is a 25 minute walk, and taxi and bus links are right outside the door. Good restaurants and cafes within 2 minutes of the hotel. Courteous staff make it a nice place to stay.
Cons: Noisy top floor! We stayed on the top floor, and the noise levels were too much. There was a constant loud extractor fan noise all night coming from the bathroom (it cant be switched off), in addition we could hear the elevator mechanical noises and motors also. And we weren't even the closest room to the elevators. As a light sleeper - these noise levels were uncomfortable and annoying. (Lower floors probably don't have these issues). Coffee maker in the room is adequate - but making tea is near impossible. Tea bags are provided - but no kettle. And the coffee machine only boils water when a bespoke coffee pod is inserted. It can be "tricked" into making tea by stuffing a tea bag into the pod area. But this certainly isn't obvious or ideal. There is a small pool and gym on the 5th floor, but the changing room is small with just one shower. It wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem, but if there were more than 2 people changing at once it would be "cosy" to say the least. Also - there didn't seem to be a way to switch on bedside lights, from the door switch, upon entering the room. There is a single ceiling light at the door, but bedside lights all have individual switches. A little odd!

Pros: Location.
Cons: The room and hallways disappointing. Old, dingy and poor value for the price. Reno needed.

Pros: Location was important on this trip as it was one of the only decent hotels in the area
Cons: the radio on the clock wouldn't shut off so we had to unplug it... mode selector didn't work either. The phone kept blinking that we had a message but we couldn't retrieve it...Front desk said there was no message. Carpets had some major stains... not a good visual for any traveller who pays $300 for a room
