AAA Inspector Notes
The specialty here is flame-searing (Aburi) and many of the sushi and entrées feature this cooking style. Also different is the provision of flavorful sauces with sushi and sashimi instead of the ubiquitous wasabi and soy. The menu is varied and offers the familiar and unique like a kale Caesar salad with bonito flakes, Brome Lake duck confit, Fraser Valley pork and Aburi Angus rib-eye. Engaging staff can guide you in your choices. Tasting menus are available; omakase requires 72 hours notice. You can choose from several areas in the attractive dining room: the lounge and bar, sushi bar, main dining area and a small garden patio. Wander around to see the beautiful wall murals by Kyoto-born artist, Hideki Kimura.
