Beacon Hill Park is at Douglas and Dallas sts. The 81-hectare (200-acre) park features attractive flowerbeds, small lakes, playing fields and lawns that slope to the sea, a totem pole carved by Chief Mungo Martin, and the Mile Zero marker of the Trans-Canada Highway. There also is a children’s petting zoo and a water play park. Natural areas contain native wildflowers and various wildlife. A free summer concert series is held at the Cameron Bandshell.
