Miniature World is in The Fairmont Empress hotel at 649 Humboldt St. Animation, lighting, commentary and sound effects enhance more than 80 highly detailed miniature scenes. Displays include Circus World, one of the world's largest dollhouses, a Swiss Family Robinson tree house, a classic car rally and a futuristic space diorama. Scenes illustrate historic battles, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, “Gulliver's Travels” and novels by Charles Dickens. Eleven exhibits depict King Arthur's Camelot. The Great Canadian Railway exhibit re-creates rail transportation in late 19th-century Canada. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$15; $11 (ages 65+); $10 (ages 12-17 and students with ID); $8 (ages 5-11).
Hours: Daily 9-9, mid-May through mid-Sept.; 9-7, early May to mid-May and mid-Sept. to late Sept.; 9-5, rest of year. Closed Christmas.
