AAA Editor Notes
Thunderbird Park is at the corner of Douglas and Belleville sts. on the grounds of the Royal BC Museum. The park's collection of West Coast totem poles was established in 1941 and recarved via the Totem Restoration Program 1950-90, when the originals began to decay beyond repair. A new Kwakwaka’wakw Honouring Pole was carved and raised in 1999.

Also showcased is Wawadiťła., the ceremonial bighouse built by noted carver and artist Mungo Martin in 1953 that bears the hereditary crests of his family.
