There's an excellent blend of old and new with cheerful contemporary furnishings in this restored 1913 building. Many units are bi-level suites with upstairs bedrooms and some have private balconies. Pieces from a private art collection, on loan from the University of Victoria, are displayed in every room. Smoke free premises. 30 kitchen units, some two bedrooms. 2 stories, interior corridors.

Pros: I had a nice big suite with a street view from the Juliet balcony, but I could also see some of the bay, which was nice. The suite was fantastic. Really high ceiling with a kitchenette far bigger and better equipped than many of those in big-city apartments. There's a restaurant/pub downstairs in the hotel with great food and drinks and a very friendly staff. They also serve the beers from their own brewery. It's really close to the promenade, but just far enough NOT to have the holiday drunks singing under your window at 3 AM.
Cons: I only stayed one night.
