AAA Editor Notes

Craigflower National Historic Site is at 1801 Admirals Rd. Built in 1856 by the Hudson's Bay Co. on an original homestead, the farmhouse is a fine example of early Georgian architecture. The heavy oak door reinforced with iron studs is a reminder of the British class system. A kitchen garden complements the atmosphere. The schoolhouse, said to be the oldest in western Canada, was built by the Craigflower farmhouse workers for their children. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 10-4, May-Sept.; by appointment rest of year.
