Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park

Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park, 525 The Esplanade, preserves a three-story, 26-room Victorian residence built 1865-68 for city founder Gen. John Bidwell and his wife Annie. Guests entertained at the brick mansion covered in pink stucco included such well-known figures as Susan B. Anthony, President Rutherford B. Hayes, John Muir and Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman.
