Hollywood Museum is in the historic Max Factor Building at 1660 N. Highland Ave. In 1928, makeup guru Max Factor bought this 1913 Art Deco building and later opened a cosmetics salon that catered to film stars. The building's exterior, interior and original celebrity make-up rooms have been restored to their former glory. More than 10,000 original costumes, props, posters, scripts, antique movie cameras and movie memorabilia pack the structure. There are entire exhibits devoted to science fiction, silent films, costume dramas, etc., as well as individual stars and films. Not to be missed is the fine collection of historical Hollywood photographs, Cary Grant's Rolls Royce, and the Hannibal Lecter jailhouse movie set.
