Orange County Zoo is at 1 Irvine Park Rd. in Irvine Regional Park; take SR55 to the Chapman Ave. exit, go e. on Chapman for about 5 mi., then n. on Jamboree for .2 mi. The 5-acre zoo is in Irvine Regional Park, a lush 477-acre area of verdant lawns and many shade trees, and offering hiking and biking trails, fishing ponds, a lagoon with pedal boats, picnic areas, a train, a nature center and a children's zoo area. Zoo animals (and plants) are representative of the Southwest United States and include coyotes, mountain lions, black bears, bald eagles, golden eagles, island foxes and ocelots.

Cellular phone audio tours are available. Picnic facilities are available in Irvine Regional Park.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
