Turtle Bay Exploration Park is off SR 44W (Sundial Bridge Dr.), then n. to the park entrance. This 300-acre interpretive park explores the region's people, cultures and natural resources. The glass-decked Sundial Bridge connects the park's two campuses.

In addition to the Turtle Bay Museum, Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp and Parrot Playhouse, there's an aquarium, an arboretum, botanical gardens, animal exhibits and shows, a boardwalk and changing exhibits. On site is the Monolith, the remains of the aggregate plant that processed gravel used to make concrete for the construction of nearby Shasta Dam in the early 1940s. Segway tours of the park are offered as well.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
