Modoc National Wildlife Refuge

Modoc National Wildlife Refuge, .5 mi. s. on US 395, 1 mi. e. on CR 56, then 1.5 mi. s. on CR 115, following signs, serves as a haven for more than 250 species of birds and other wildlife. The refuge's 7,021 acres are popular in spring and fall when large populations of migrating ducks, geese, sandhill cranes and other wetland birds stop to rest and feed. Seasonal fishing, hiking, boating and hunting are permitted.
