Coleman National Fish Hatchery is 10 mi. s.e. via Balls Ferry Rd. to Ashcreek and Gover rds., then continuing on Coleman Fish Hatchery Rd. The largest salmon hatchery in the continental United States, Coleman raises fingerlings in rearing ponds year-round. Salmon and steelhead migrate up the ladders to the hatchery early October to early February during spawning season. The hatchery can be explored on a self-guiding tour.
