California Living Museum, 3.5 mi. n.w. off SR 178 at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy., presents more than 200 species of native California mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles, some of which are rare or endangered. Species include the mountain lion, bighorn sheep, desert tortoise, rattlesnake, kit fox, black bear, raccoon, golden eagle and bald eagle. Gardens feature plants in representative plant communities as well as specimen gardens to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

Picnicking facilities are available.
