Pros: I loved the friendliness of this place. Miriam greeted you and showed you the beautiful grounds and it was just easy to go in and out of the property. Her mother Hilde was extremely friendly as her son was extremely helpful!
Cons: I would go back if I could, nothing that I did not like.

Pros: Beautiful garden. Clean. Sockets by bed - handy for charging phones.
Cons: Small, dark room (stayed in the gold room in September 2016, c. 10' x 14', excluding bathroom). Limited space for our luggage (one shared medium suitcase) and personal effects (toothbrushes, etc). What little space there was was occupied by ornaments. No fridge in room. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. No iron or ironing board in room. Very small TV, c. 20 inch wide screen, which occupied the half wardrobe. No place to hang clothes except for two hooks on the back of the bathroom door. Driveway is unlit - beware if you are returning after dark as there are trip hazards (two hosepipes laid across the drive - we used our phone to illuminate our way to the front door). Communal space (sitting room) was in darkness at 8:45 p.m. - probably because the rooms open directly onto it but it left no option other than our small room (with one chair) to sit and relax at the end of the day. Bed was small but comfortable. Breakfast was at 8:30 a.m., no earlier or later (I asked). No choice for breakfast (though they did ask about dietary preferences and requirements the previous day). Breakfast was a nice French toast with strawberries but if you're not a fan of French toast (I'm not particularly) the only other food available was plums, a plain cake that looked like Madeira cake or cornflakes - there was no bread, butter, toast, other cereals, eggs, yogurts or other offerings typically included at breakfast. Juices were cranberry or orange (from concentrate). Coffee was available. Given the above I don't understand how this inn is evaluated as a four star establishment. It is my opinion that it offers limited facilities and poor value for money. We paid more than $170 for our one-night stay.
