AAA Editor Notes
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum is at SR 94 and Forrest Gate Road at 750 Depot St. The museum showcases a large collection of vintage locomotives, cabooses, freight and passenger cars, and other railway memorabilia spanning more than 100 years. A scenic 12-mile, 75-minute round-trip ride aboard a vintage train takes passengers through San Diego’s backcountry mountains; the trip includes a tour of the museum. Special themed train trips for families are held throughout the year.

Picnic and children's play areas as well as a vintage railway station are on the grounds.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.

Admission
Museum tour $7; $4.50 (ages 6-12). Train ride and museum tour $18; $15 (ages 65+); $9 (ages 3-12); free (ages 0-2 on adult lap). Rides with the engineer in the locomotive $40 (limit two persons ages 6+ per trip; reservations are required).
