Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is 5 mi. e. of I-5 via Palomar Airport Rd., 1 mi. s. on Melrose Rd., and then 1 blk. w. on Carrillo Way. The 27-acre retreat was once part of a working ranch owned by the actor most remembered as Pancho in the 1950s TV Western series “The Cisco Kid.” Seeking to re-create an old California-style ranch, Carrillo designed many of the adobe buildings himself. Visitors can explore the hacienda compound and its grounds on guided and self-guiding tours; restoration of the ranch buildings is ongoing.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
