AAA Editor Notes
The Wende Museum, 5741 Buckingham Pkwy., Suite E, details life in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union 1945-91, during the Cold War. A variety of artifacts are featured, including artwork, flags, household items, photos, posters, toys and fragments of the Berlin Wall. One of the galleries is dedicated to items collected from a former Checkpoint Charlie border guard. Temporary exhibits also are offered.
Tours lasting 45-90 minutes cover the galleries and the archives.
Note: In early 2017, the museum is expected to move into the National Guard Armory building at 10808 Culver Blvd.
