Eastern California Museum, 3 blks. w. of the courthouse at 155 N. Grant St., illustrates area history, anthropology, botany and geology. Highlights include an extensive Native American basketry display; photo exhibits of area recreation, including pioneering climber Norman Clyde; the Los Angeles Aqueduct; the Owens Valley “water wars” and author Mary Austin; antique farm and mining equipment; and an overview of the Manzanar World War II Relocation Camp.
