Manzanar National Historic Site Interpretive Center is 6 mi. s. at 5001 US 395. The center is in the restored high school gymnasium/auditorium. A 22-minute movie provides an overview of Manzanar’s history, with many stories told in voice-overs by Manzanar internees. The exhibits tell the story of the Japanese-American internment experience as well as the history of the site’s Native Americans and farming and ranching communities.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
