Pros: Great location for hiking in southern Joshua Tree and near La Quinta, close to delicious restauants and glamorous shopping on El Paseo. The hotel was seamless and transparent in their care for us and utterly professional.
Cons:

Pros: Landscaping
Cons: The institutional design of the resort. Loud music everywhere, particularly annoying around the pools. The in house Starbuck was poorly/rudely staffed and understocked. No croissants from mid-morning on.

Pros: Hotel was just lovely. Gorgeous grounds, lovely patio area at meal times. The wooden games like connect 4 and Jenga were a nice touch for my kids.
Cons: Paying for hotel parking and service charges per night were quite expensive

Pros: The mattress was very comfortable!
Cons: 1. There were in room dining trays and plates left in the hallway overnight. Does not make the hotel look like a 4-star hotel. These should be taken away asap. 2. The main pool area water was really gross, even at night time. From all the people using it, there was this film on top of the water. It is likely due to the sunblock in the water and also the number of people going in and out of the water, but I would think by morning, the pool should be clean again after being treated over night. 3. There should be more gluten free items on the menu (pls do not use breads with tapioca in them, as tapioca is not healthy). 4. Saturday night in room dining took about 40 minutes. This is okay, but when we had requested for additional bowls and utensils, they arrived after we finished our meal. Service should be faster.
