California Gold Panning is .5 mi. s. on SR 49/108, then .5 mi. w. to 17712 Harvard Mine Rd. Gold panning and sluicing on Woods Creek in the historic Harvard Mine District are taught by seasoned prospectors who relate the history and stories of the gold-mining camp. Participants can see what the early miners experienced back in the 1800s.
A change of clothing is recommended for children.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
