Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum, in San Lorenzo County Park at 1160 Broadway, features a museum complex and an exhibit barn. Displays in the barn trace the evolution of agriculture in Monterey County. Historic buildings include the restored 1898 Spreckels farmhouse, a blacksmith shop, an 1887 schoolhouse and the original 1903 King City train depot. The History of Irrigation Museum also is part of the complex. An outdoor exhibit displays farm equipment from the 1800s to the 1940s.
