Pros: The hotel is historic and charming with a beautiful entryway and foyer. We loved our large room with the ocean view. We were able to open the windows and let the ocean breeze into the room. The room was cleaned early each day and the turn-down service in the evening was especially nice. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. This hotel is close to everything in La Jolla. We absolutely loved that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. When we did venture away from the hotel, they had a London Cab (the real thing) that would take us and even pick us up too!
Cons: The baseboards in the room were dirty and the upholstered furniture looked & smelled like it needed to be cleaned. The bathroom was a little small in comparison to the room but it is understandable considering it's an old building. Some of the staff at the front desk and the door did not greet people or even smile/nod as we would walk in or out of the property. Since they are the "frontline," I feel that they should always be greeting people as they come in and out. If we stopped to ask the bellmen a question, they were very helpful and answered our questions.

Pros: It was fine...read what I didn't like
Cons: Spending $700 for a hotel room you'd expect the sink not to clog or drain slowly. The sink filled up quickly and I had to turn it off and wait for it to go down....

Cons: Poor service in lounge Valets unfriendly. Did not like the small servings in NineTen on our previous visit.
