Lomita Railroad Museum, e. of Narbonne Ave. at 2137 W. 250th St., is a Victorian-style passenger depot containing scale models, photographs and paintings of locomotives, and assorted railroad memorabilia. A 1902 Mogul locomotive is next to a water tower, and an all-wood 1910 Union Pacific caboose is open for visitors to get the feel of what it was like to live out of this “bobber.” The museum annex has a 1913 box car and a 1923 oil tanker.
Picnicking is permitted for small groups at the annex park.
