Japanese American National Museum is at 100 N. Central Ave. at jct. E. First St. Detailing the initial Japanese immigration to America and the unconstitutional incarceration of Japanese American citizens during World War II, the museum celebrates the triumph of democracy over discrimination. On the grounds is a water and stone garden.
$9; $5 (ages 6-17, ages 62+ and college students with ID); free (Thurs. 5-8, and all day the third Thurs. of the month).
Hours: Tues.-Wed. and Fri.-Sun. 11-5, Thurs. noon-8. Last admission 30 minutes before closing. Closed Jan. 1, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
