Richard J. Riordan Central Library, 630 W. 5th St. between Grand Ave. and Flower St., is a landmark structure designed by noted architect Bertram Goodhue. The library's extensive collection includes more than 2.1 million books and 500,000 historical photographs. The library also features three galleries for exhibitions, an auditorium and lush gardens. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
Free. Parking: $1 (1 hour), $5 (2 hours), $9 (3 hours) at S. Flower Street garage with validation.
Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 10-8, Fri.-Sat. 9:30-5:30, Sun. 1-5. Guided 1-hour tours Mon.-Fri. at 12:30, Sat. at 11 and 2, Sun. at 2. Guided Art-in-the-Garden Tour departs Sat. at 12:30.
