The Broad, 221 S. Grand Ave., displays more than 2,000 works of post-war and contemporary art from the personal collection of Eli and Edythe Broad. Some artists represented in the exhibits include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Cindy Sherman and other contemporaries of theirs. The building serves as the headquarters of The Broad Art Foundation’s worldwide lending library, and visitors can see the vaults from various vantage points.

Next to the museum is a public plaza with an open lawn—used for performances and outdoor films and perfect for picnics.

Note: The museum does not offer a bag/coat check. Photography and sketching are permitted. Guests must reserve timed tickets in advance. There is no standby line but extra tickets may be released online daily.

Picnicking is permitted.
