Snuggle up in this charming family-friendly inn. A variety of rooms and suites carry an upscale mountain-lodge theme. All units offer soft robes and comfortable beds, some with forest views. A favorite quick-serve café in the village of Arroyo Grande, Alphy’s offers outdoor seating as well as a cozy dining room. The menu lists a creative selection of coffee drinks and specialty breakfast dishes including a low-carb egg scramble made with fresh spinach, ground beef, and jack and cheddar cheeses served with cottage cheese or sliced tomatoes on the side. Smoke free premises. 25 units, some kitchens. 2-3 stories (no elevator), interior corridors.

Pros: Not much.
Cons: This property is definitely not worth the $200 per night. Thin walls-heard neighbors and toilet flushes. Nothing here deserves the awards it seems to have received. All 4 accessories were plugged into one power strip. The sheets resembled bad velcro. The fire alarm in room went off due to heat from shower. Front desk-"Oh I sorry, I'm checking someone in". This property is nothing more than a 2 floor walk up--not even a good Motel.

Pros: Really easy to get to and easy to park, very helpful staff at all times of day, spacious room, room itself was very clean
Cons: We arrived at 10pm and it was only 4ºC/39ºF, but the room did not have the heating on so the first night was quite cold while I warmed the place up! Room furniture was a little tired. One morning we were in the hot tub, and one of the cleaners showed up and left a huge, clear bin-liner full of rubbish in the room with us...for no apparent reason. WiFi a bit intermittent but generally OK.

Pros: This our third time staying there and really like it. It is a comfortable and friendly place. Location to everything is great. Great hiking trails right out your doorstep.
Cons: At no fault of the hotel, there was an elephant parade above us all night. One guy and one dog; go figure.
