Alpine County Museum Complex

Alpine County Museum Complex, .2 mi. w. of SR 89 at School and Montgomery sts., includes an 1882 schoolhouse and a jail that have been restored and furnished in period. A museum contains exhibits about mining, the history and culture of the Washoe Indians and the history of a vaquero (cowboy herder) camp.
